Proposed GSI Multi-Sports Complex
GSI presented a proposal to the Olathe City Council on Oct 12 to convert 75 acres of land in the North Ridgeview Corridor between College Blvd and K-10 into a 12 field Multi-Sports Complex. Here are some of the highlights:
- 12 synthetic fields
- All fields will be lit
- Privately funded and owned
- Used for practices, leagues and tournaments
- Primarily used for soccer but other sports such as Lacrosse, field hockey, rugby etc. will also use the facility
- Design to maintain its park-like look
- The topography lends itself to various tiers of fields
- Natural shading and 200 year old oak trees
- 44 sq foot indoor facility to house retail, restaurants, and offices
- NSCAA to move their national HQ to the complex
- Other tenants will include KCFC, Kansas Youth Soccer and other soccer/sports clubs
- Potential to work hand in hand with other local facilities to create Regional and National events, such as US Youth Soccer Regionals and ECNL events
