Richard was born in Swansea, Wales. He played collegiate soccer, Field Hockey and Cricket at the University of Wales in Cardiff, where he earned a B.A. Degree in Sports Science and a Post Graduate Degree in Education.
He holds a English Football Association coaching certificate along with a USSF D License and has coached here in Kansas City since 1996. Richard is the Tour Director and league and tournament assistant at GCI travel and was one of the founding members of KCFC where he is also a Technical Director. He is married to Mindy and they have a daughter named Dilyn and a son named Jac.
