I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say Thank you for organising the Nutmeg Tournament. Our Team, parents and boys alike had a fantastic experience. Your communications were very helpful (unlike most tournament organisers!). We were lucky the weather cooperated and allowed us to complete all the games.

Excellent weekend Huw! Thanks to you and GSI for a great weekend. As a Coach, I found the officiating and the overall experience to be top notch, which is something we don’t always find as we travel around to tourney’s and here in KC. Many comments from the parents about the organization and communication about games and weather, etc. They appreciated the availability of info, especially with the tentative weather issues. Thanks for your hard work!

I just wanted to send a quick thank you for the terrific time we had at the Nutmeg Tournament this past weekend. Everything was very well-organized and up-to-the-minute, and you did a great job keeping everyone apprised of possible weather contingencies. Good call on the lightning threat on Saturday evening — I've been a tournament director too and I know how hard it can be to make that decision early enough to keep everyone safe.

I also wanted to let you know that we had excellent officiating for our three games. Our first two games (both on Polo 7) had the same center official and he and his ARs were right on top of everything in both games. We've been to tournaments where officials are so tired by the end of the day that the quality of the late games is compromised, but that was most certainly not the case on Saturday. Our third game was on Kenneth 3 and the center official and her crew did a wonderful job as well. As an added bonus, the ARs on the team side in all three games were very friendly and that made for a relaxing atmosphere on the bench.

Our team really enjoyed seeing teams we had never played before, and all of our matches were great fun. All in all, we very much enjoyed our visit, and we will certainly encourage teams from our club to enter the Nutmeg (and other Kansas City tournaments) in the future. Thanks again for having us!

Our team really enjoyed playing in the Nutmeg tournament. We know as a U12 team playing up to U13 we will have challenges, with that being said I had several parents ask me a question I could not answer. The Quest Predators (not Blue) are a KC Metro league A1 division team. Our parents asked what A1 (top division) in KC Metro league equates to in Heartland. While we lost that game 3-0, the boys had great fun frustrating that team and not letting them blow us out. We used the experience as a positive. The Center Referee in that game was the absolute best I have run across in any tournament that we played in. I want to compliment him and both AR's.

On the flip side of that was the center ref in our 2nd game against the KC Outlaws. She was perhaps the worst I have run across with the exception of an AR in Topeka. I had my hands full keeping our head coach from commenting too much. I hate to criticize referee's because I understand how hard it is to do this job. I only add this as I think she would frustrate someone if she were assigned to a tournament semi or final game.

We enjoyed our experience once again.
