Option number One Proposed Itinerary

London & Wales, "A Taste of Great Britain"

This program is designed for quality USA soccer teams. It is a tour that includes cultural experiences along with competitive games against opposition in England. The tour will focus on one of the world’s greatest cities - London, before transferring to Wales and to one of Britain’s best international youth tournament’s ‘The Ian Rush’

DAY 1 (Wednesday July 23rd) Depart USA on a scheduled transatlantic flight to either Gatwick or Heathrow International airports.

DAY 2 (Thursday July 24th) Arrive in London and transfer to the hotel (either ‘The International’ on the Canary Warf or The Hampstead Britannia). Both hotels are part of the impressive Britannia Hotels chain and are particularly well located for the London attractions. After checking into the hotel transfer to one of the Official Residence’s of the Queen Windsor Castle. Evening dinner at the hotel and then early to bed.

DAY 3 (Friday July 25th) Morning team practice. Full Day tour of the sights of London. Start at St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower Of London (and the Tower Bridge) and then to the embankment of the river Thames and the ‘London Eye’, where you will begin the walking portion of the tour. The route will cover Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, Horse Guard Parade, Trafalgar Square, The Royal Mall and Trafalgar Square. Optional night out at one of the West-End Shows.

DAY 4 (Saturday, July 26th) Spend the morning at Oxford St., Piccadilly, Carnaby Street and the unique Covent Garden in London’s west-end. Afternoon free to spend extra time at one of the many attractions or attend a pre-season soccer match Evening friendly game versus Crystal Palace FC or comparable opposition.

DAY 5 (Sunday July 27th) Transfer to Wales via the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford Upon Avon. Settle into dorm accommodation at the University of Wales in seaside resort of Aberystwyth. Tournament Opening Ceremonies.

DAY 6-10 (Monday July 28th - Friday August 1st) Tournament play. Teams usually play one or two full games per day. Local sightseeing opportunities to include – day trip to the castles of North Wales, sea fishing excursions, or just stroll along the promenade of the town.

DAY 11 (Saturday, Aug 2nd) Transfer to Liverpool and the Adelphi hotel. Attend a pre-season game

DAY 12 (Sunday, Aug 3rd) Transfer to the airport for return flight to the USA from Manchester.

Note:

  • Itinerary subject to availability upon registration. Final detailed itinerary will be provided 2 weeks prior to departure
  • Type of opposition to be determined by the level of ability of the traveling team
