Residential Camp
Rockhurst Residential/Commuter Camp June 8th to June 12th
As always this camp promises to be one of our biggest camps of the year. We are anticipating 200+ campers. Participants may register as day campers or residents.
Emphasis is placed on character development, leadership and camaraderie as well as soccer skill/tactical development. The camp provides the players with top quality coaching from coaches who have worked this camp for many years. The camp is also seen as the ideal preparation for the up-coming try-out season.
This camp will sell out. We recommend that you REGISTER before the end of March to ensure a spot in this camp.
Registration

Who Should Attend
The camp is ideal for boys and girls aged 6-14. All residents, however, must be at least 8 years old.
Camp Format
The camp incorporates Three field sessions:
Technical ball handling sessions: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Tactical small sided games: 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Scrimmages: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Available Camp Programs
Campers may select from one of the following options:
1/2 Day Camp: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Day Camp: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Commuter Camp: 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Residential Camp: Overnight
Location
Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo (Get Driving Direction)
Dorms
Participants who opt for the residential program will sleep in the Rockhurst dorms, which are located directly adjacent to the soccer field. Residents may select their own room mate or we will gladly assign a room-mate for them. Each room is double occupancy.
Supervision
All camp activities are supervised 24 hours a day with our staff coaches who stay on site with the children. This includes camp director, Huw Williams. Female coaches are also on hand 24 hours per day to take care of any issues that relate to the girls. Campers are restricted to certain areas within the campus. All activities, including free time is supervised by our staff. Campers may leave to attend non-camp activities such as baseball games etc only after signing out via the camp director.

Meal Plans
1/2 Day Campers no meals
Day Campers daily lunch
Commuters daily lunch and dinner
Residents daily breakfast, lunch and dinner
(Note 1st meal will be lunch on Monday and the last meal will be lunch on Friday).
Awards
We host our Awards Ceremony on Friday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All campers and family members are invited to attend the awards ceremony. This includes 1/2 Day (morning only) campers.
Awards will be presented to the MVP and Best Hustler of each group along with our three main camp awards:
Camp MVP - the camper who the coaches believed performed the best throughout the weekCamper of the week - the camp personality. The camper who best exemplifies the attitude of the camp both on and off the field of play.
Camp Hustler of the week - The camper who the coaches believed worked the hardest during all sessions throughout the week.
We regard our awards ceremony as a great climax to the week and a time where we announce our Camp World Cup Champion!

Guest Speakers
1. Kristine Lilly, the world’s most capped player and the only player in history to play in FIVE FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments will be attending our June 9th - 13th camp as a guest speaker
2. Dana Nearmyer has coached 23 high school seasons. He has coached at Blue Valley North, Olathe South, Olathe North and now at St. James Academy. He has coached club soccer for twelve years. He was named to the 1980's All-Decade Team for Ottawa University, where served as Captain. Dana has a passion for developing character and leadership in young people
Tips for Campers
- Break new shoes in before the camp. Players might be hampered by painful blisters if shoes are used for the first time at the camp
- Sessions will be held on natural grass fields and synthetic field turf. Cleats may be used on both surfaces.
- Bring a change of footwear for the dining room - no cleats are allowed inside the buildings
- Bring all drinks in PLASTIC bottles
- Bring water jugs * Mark all personal belongings including camp ball clearly
- Recruit your team-mates or friends to attend with you - camp is more enjoyable when you are with your friends
- Register early.
